This Encinitas backyard sat on a sloped lot with significant grade changes that made the space nearly impossible to use as-is. We constructed a multi-tiered system of concrete block retaining walls to regrade the entire property, carving out level platforms at different elevations and transforming the slope into a series of functional outdoor areas. A full drainage system was installed throughout to manage water movement across the tiered surfaces and protect the structural integrity of the walls long-term. Premium artificial turf was installed across the main lawn level, with a putting green incorporated into the design to add a recreational element, while circular paver tree rings and paver edging throughout give the space a polished, finished detail at every transition.
