The homeowner wanted a purpose-built putting green that felt like a natural extension of the property's existing garden character rather than a standard residential add-on.
We built a large contoured putting green with three hole positions as the centerpiece of this backyard remodeling project, shaping it with flowing organic curves that follow the natural lines of the surrounding landscape. A curved sandstone block retaining wall was constructed along the rear boundary to define the green's perimeter, hold back the hillside slope, and add a warm, natural architectural detail that ties the install to the existing garden aesthetic. Rich coco brown mulch beds were laid along both sides of the retaining wall, completing the framing and giving the entire space a lush, intentional feel from the concrete patio edge all the way to the back hedge line.
