This Chula Vista backyard was designed to turn an underused outdoor space into a modern, comfortable extension of the home. To achieve that, we installed a custom Aluma-Wood patio cover with a bold, black steel-look frame and a clean white soffit underneath. The sharp lines and flat-roof profile give the structure a sleek, contemporary feel while providing full shade and protection. Beneath it, stamped concrete was poured and finished in a natural stone pattern, creating a durable, slip-resistant surface that visually elevates the entire space.
One of the main challenges was making the patio feel open and expansive while still being anchored solidly to the yard. By aligning the cover with the home and extending the stamped concrete across the entire seating area, we created a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor living.
